Improving the quality of life of African kids by providing quality education and quality health

About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Rural Hope Foundation is to champion the construction of schools and delivery of medical equipment/unexpired prescriptions in deprived areas of Africa with the involvement of community leaders. Every child deserves an education. It’s a tragedy, but one we can all address and begin to change. If we all join together and donate to the building of schools we can offer these children hope and a chance at a better life

Education has been identified as the key to national development across the globe. Even though education has been prioritized by many nations, there is still much more to do. Primary and secondary education, which forms the basis of every child’s development, has improved over the years in Africa. However, this increase has been deficient despite the increase in investment in education. Girl child education has improved but marginally. Despite these changes and improvement, Rural Hope Foundation has identified serious gaps that need attention in order to provide the rural African child with competitive quality education and quality health care. “A healthy mind duels indeed in a healthy body”. In promoting education, Rural Hope Foundation aims at tackling poverty, improving healthcare and improving the quality of life of children. Poverty and education (quality) are correlated and must therefore be treated together. Every action taken by Rural Hope Foundation will select projects with the express approval of the members of beneficiary communities.

The Rural Hope Foundation plans to make education an all-inclusive project for the benefit of all “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all” and Rural Hope Foundation ’s Mission: is to make education the basic right of every child and the responsibility of every adult in the community.

Chronic poverty pervades in most parts of sub-Sahara Africa and this is where most girls are virtually excluded from secondary education. Most girls from deprived or poor homes are not able to continue with secondary education because the government has neglected those communities, therefore, no school buildings to house the students. Also, parents cannot pay school fees or purchase school uniforms and text books. Consequently, large numbers leave to the urban areas or the city to become street porters. With no education, no shelter, little or no money, and no family support, most girls eventually live on streets , making them vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. Their male equivalents –also school drop outs, also move to the city in search of greener pastures which do not exist. They are also finally trapped in similar predicaments like their female counterparts.

The general history of Africa since achieving independence has been one of development failure. Rural Hope Foundation was born out of a response to this need. Rural Hope Foundation seeks to bridge the development deficit gap posed by the continent’s long years of mismanagement and rule. Rural Hope Foundation Inc. strategic mandate is to raise a new generation of African leaders by focusing on the human capital aspect of development. We envision an African continent fully developed in terms of its human and resource capacity, free from poverty; ignorance, and civil conflict, and where the poorest and most vulnerable people become “leaders” and effectively manage their national resources.
